Barack Obama is Our 44th President

It’s official! Barack Obama is our 44th President of the United States. The Inauguration was powerful and from what I’ve heard, Obama is getting to work starting today. Within 48 hours he will issue an executive order to close the Guantanamo Bay prison.

I can’t imagine what he and his family are feeling right now, but as the cameras panned through the audience, you could see the emotions. Even the reporters were getting chocked up.

I love the photo above of Obama. He has a huge smile on his face and this might have been the moment when Chief Justice of the United States, John G. Roberts, messed up the oath! I think the oath was only about 35 words and Roberts put the word “faithfully” in the wrong place. Obama knew this and he seemed to chuckle a little. Other than that little mishap, the entire event seemed to go off without any problems.
