Christopher Meloni on the set of Law & Order: SVU

Christopher Meloni is looking good on the set of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

I have never hidden my love for Law & Order.  Since its debut on NBC on September 13, 1990 I have been hooked.  While most die-hard fans will balk at my admission of publicly declaring my love for the spin-offs, I have no problem saying that L & O: SVU is by far my favorite of the series, including the original.

Why?  First off, the writing is brilliant.  Secondly, the detective twosome of Benson and Stabler.  There have been many great detective pairings on L & O, including Logan and Briscoe and Fontana and Falco, but the chemistry between Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni is like none other.  When you put two head strong characters of the opposite sex together, you are bound to get some serious intensity.  And thankfully, the writers know better than to hook these two up romantically.

And then there is Christopher Meloni, all on his own.  A sucker for cop dramas, I’ve always favored the rough-around-the- edges but soft-on-the-inside classic cop character and Meloni knows just how to deliver it.  And seriously, is there anyting hotter than an a tough guy cop with a heart of gold beating the crap out of people and taking down ‘perps’?  I don’t think so.  And if you are a fan of Meloni’s but want to see him on the other side of the law, then I urge you to check out Oz.  But, brace yourself, you are in for a surprise.

Law & Order: SVU is in full swing of it’s tenth season and Meloni and Hargitay still look great together.  By far the best detective coupling Law & Order has ever seen.  Wouldn’t you agree?
