Colin Farrell at a New York book signing

October 23, 2007 by Wendy Boswell

Actor Colin Farrell was on hand at the New York borders yesterday – and no, he did NOT write a book, he was actually on a panel to represent his work with Amnesty International. Here’s more information, straight from the press release:

Who: Eoin Colfer is the author of the best-selling Artemis Fowl series.
Roddy Doyle won the Booker Prize for “Paddy Clark Ha Ha Ha.”
Deborah Ellis received a Jane Addams Children’s Book Award special
commendation for her Breadwinner trilogy. Margo Lanagan received a
Printz Honor for her collection “Black Juice.” Linda Sue Park won
the Newbery Medal for “A Single Shard.” Tim Wynne-Jones has twice
won the Governor General’s Literary Award for Fiction.

These are six of the 10 best-selling, award-winning authors who
have come together to write the collaborative novel “Click” to
benefit Amnesty International. Each chapter is written by a
different author and each part of the story frames photo-journalist
George “Gee” Keane’s incredible life through a different lens
spanning settings across the globe and time periods past and
future. “Click” was edited by Arthur Levine, editorial director of
Arthur A. Levine Books, an imprint of Scholastic Inc.

What: Panel with “Click” authors Colfer, Doyle, Ellis, Lanagan, Park and
Wynne-Jones moderated by Levine and special guest, actor, Colin
Farrell, in support of his work with Amnesty International.

Interesting, isn’t it? I love seeing celebrities using their fame to help others – it actually makes me want to go see their movies more. Here’s Colin:
