Here’s some information on the movie (sketchy so far) from IMDB:
* Pre-production work for this film began before Casino Royale (2006) started filming.
* As with Casino Royale (2006), the traditional film series characters of Q and Miss Moneypenny will not be reappearing.
* Will be released in the same year that celebrates the centenary of the birth of Ian Fleming, James Bond’s creator. Fleming was born on 28 May 1908 and this film was originally scheduled to be released on 2 May 2008, a few weeks before the 100th Birthday on 28 May 2008. However, the release date has now been deferred until 7 November 2008 to allow more time to produce the movie.
* It has been established from production personnel that this movie is going to be the first ever direct sequel to another official James Bond film (i.e. Casino Royale (2006))
* In an interview with Jonathan Ross, Casino Royale (2006) director Martin Campbell hinted that Bond 22 would be a sort of follow on to Casino Royale, stating that it would be part 2 of a 2-part story and thus expecting there to be a small a gap as possible between the release of the 2 films.
* South African movie maker Roger Michell walked away from the chance to take charge of his first James Bond film after talks with producers fell through. “Creative differences” prompted the South African to give up on the project.
