Last week, the couple attended the “Terminator Salvation” premiere in Paris, France which was held at the Le Grand Rex. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly back in May, Bale admitted that two years ago, he didn’t even want to read the script for this movie.

“I went, ‘No, I don’t even have to read this,’” Bale says. “I just thought, the mythology is dead. I mean, I did flick through it, because you can always be surprised. But I wasn’t surprised by what I read in that one.”

What’s up next for the star? He will play Dicky Eklund in “The Fighters” which is set to begin production in July and will be released sometime in 2011. The film is “A look at the early years of boxer “Irish” Micky Ward and his brother who helped train him before going pro in the mid ’80s”.

In an interview with EW, Christian Bale talks about recharging another fading franchise with Terminator Salvation. And to think, two years ago he didn’t even want to read the script!

“I went, ‘No, I don’t even have to read this,’” Bale says. “I just thought, the mythology is dead. I mean, I did flick through it, because you can always be surprised. But I wasn’t surprised by what I read in that one.”

An interview with Bale wouldn’t be complete if he didn’t talk about his well-known on set rant, right? His little profanity-laced tirade was leaked on the internet and everyone, I mean everyone was talking about it!

What did Bale have to say about that whole thing?

“Public Enemies” Starring Johnny Depp

March 4, 2009 by Julie Bonner

2375_D001_00262R copy “Public Enemies” arrives in theaters on July 1, 2009 and boast a wonderful star-studded cast, which includes Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and Academy Award® winner Marion Cotillard.

I’ve been hearing about this film for awhile and have been interested in it ever since. I am so used to seeing Johnny Depp play a funny pirate or more light hearted characters, so seeing him in a film like this is very intriguing.

Depp plays outlaw John Dillinger, a charismatic bank robber who because of his raids, became the number one target of J. Edgar Hoover’s fledgling FBI and its top agent, Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale).

No one was able to stop Dillinger and no jail could hold him.

You can check out a brand new trailer exclusively on Apple. More stills and movie synopsis below.

Christian Bale Apologizes for Rant

February 6, 2009 by Julie Bonner

80715L1 Have you heard about the Christian Bale rant on the set of his movie “Terminator Salvation”? Better yet, have you actually heard the recording? Bale’s hissy fit has taken the internet and news agencies by storm. Everyone is playing it, everyone is remixing it, everyone has an opinion about it.

Bale called into the KROQ Kevin & Bean show in Los Angeles this morning and apologized for his behavior.

He says, “It’s been a miserable week for me. I know I have a pottymouth, everybody knows that now. I have no confusion whatsoever. I was out of order beyond belief, I was way out of order. I acted like a punk, I regret that and there is nobody that has heard that tape that has been hit harder by it [than me]. I make no excuses for it, it is inexcusable and I hope that is absolutely clear.”

“One thing that has really disturbed me throughout this is I’m not familiar or comfortable with this notion of being a movie star. I’m an actor and I don’t quite know how to handle [the movie star thing]. The thing that disturbs me so much is that I’ve heard a lot of people saying that I seem to think I’m better than anybody else. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I’m a lucky SOB. I never forget that and that is why I put so much into what I do and I care so much about it . Sometimes that enthusiasm just goes awry.”

“I am embarrassed by it and I regret it. And I ask everybody to sit down and ask themselves, ‘Have they ever had a bad day and have they ever lost their temper and really regretted it immensely?’”

Have I ever lost my temper? Um, no, I am perfect thank you very much. Okay, okay, my kids may say otherwise. Sure, we’ve all lost our temper and let me just say…I am glad none of my temper tantrums are on tape! Although, I can guarantee you, mine wouldn’t be near as intense or entertaining as the Christian Bale one.

Haven’t heard his fit of rage? Check it out below. Warning: strong language is used! Read more

"The Dark Knight" Will Not Premiere in China

December 29, 2008 by Julie Bonner

According to “The Dark Knight’s” studio, Christian Bale’s latest movie will not be shown in China. The movie was the second highest-grossing film in US box-office history. So, why won’t China be releasing the film?

Here’s the statement Warner Bros. released:

“Based on a number of pre-release conditions that are being attached to The Dark Knight as well as cultural sensitivities to some elements of the film, we have opted to forego a theatrical release of the film in China.”

I haven’t seen the movie yet, so I am unaware of what “cultural sensitivities” they are referring to.

Christian Bale on working with Heath Ledger in “The Dark Knight”

May 27, 2008 by Wendy Boswell

Christian Bale, who is currently promoting his new movie “The Dark Knight”, sat down to talk about working with Heath Ledger. Here’s what he had to say:

He was incredibly intense in his performance but incredibly mellow and laid-back. Certainly there was this great anarchistic streak to it–just getting dirtier than anybody’s envisioned the Joker before. This character has power because he has no limits–absolutely nothing to lose.

You can read the rest of the interview here; and of course, here’s the Dark Knight trailer:

Christian Bale at ShoWest 2008

March 25, 2008 by Wendy Boswell

Here’s Christian Bale with fellow actor Maggie Gyllenhaal promoting the latest Batman movie at ShoWest 2008. I don’t know if I really like Christian as Batman; in Batman Begins, whenever he put on the Batman mask, he did this really stupid growly voice and rather than sounding more intimidating, he just sounded like a pirate. Anyway, here are some pics!
