The Top Ten Best Manly Fight Scenes

I like to watch movies. A LOT of movies. And with all that movie watchin’, you would think I would walk away with at least SOMETHING halfway useful, right? Well, you would be wrong. Instead, I’ve come up with the Top Ten Best Manly Fight Scenes. Ready for some ass-kicking?
10. Gladiator: Half-naked burly men hacking at each other with swords is pretty much the main premise of this movie; Russell Crowe is at his snarling best here.
9. Final House of Flying Daggers scene: One of my favorite movies ever. I’ve watched this film probably a dozen times now and still find something new to appreciate about it. Here we see the two fighters finally meet while the woman they both love is dying in the field between them.

8. Bruce Lee vs. O’Hara in Enter the Dragon: So pretty much anything with Bruce Lee in it is going to kick some serious ass. You can’t beat the high pitched squeaks every time he executes a killer move for intimidation, either.
7. Conan the Barbarian fight scene with two bad mofo’s: Pretty much any fight scene from Conan would qualify, but I especially like this one where Conan is defeating James Earl Jones two main men. Watch for his dead girlfriend to show up to give him a bit of inspiration.
6. Rocky vs. Ivan Drago: So basically Rocky gets the absolute sh!t kicked out of him in this fight by the towering behemoth Ivan Drago….but we all know that Rocky is going to win in the end. Even though he’s only 4 feet tall (he’s got Oompa Loompa power).
5. Wolverine vs. Juggernaut: I’m a girl, so I like Wolverine for more than just his fighting skills…but I do have to say that his mad crazy claws ripping at Juggernaut in this scene are pretty badass. And super cute (sorry).
4. Lord of the Rings: The Battle of Amon Hen: You’ve got your basic underdogs vs. Giant Murdering Army of Dastardly Urukhai here – what’s not to love?
3. Indiana Jones – The Plane Scene: No list of manly fight scenes would be complete without Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones fighting Nazis. Here we have Indy desperately grappling with a very overfed German until the plane spins around and helps a brother out. Awesome.
2. Neo in the Lobby Shootout – The Matrix: Ooh, I love these movies (even the second one, which we all know was kinda sucky in parts). Here’s Neo basically ripping an entire crew of security guards a new one; he also decides to do a little redecorating with an Uzi and other assorted weapons.
DRUMROLL PLEASE! And the number one Manly Fight Scene is:
1. Anakin vs. Obi-Wan in Star Wars Episode 3: Absolutely gripping from start to finish. The best scene in all 6 Star Wars films, in my opinion. It just answers so many questions; plus, it’s goosebumpingly creepy to actually SEE Darth Vader created before our very eyes. Excellent.

Very bad list of manly fights scenes. You left out fights scenes from the movies: 300, Unleashed, Ong Bak, Blade, Transporter(the first one), Deuces Wild, Green Street Hooligans… etc. By the way, fights scenes can involve weapons but usually not guns, which is why in The Matrix I would have picked the scene where Neo learns kung fu and fights Morpheus. Its more of a fight scene. Some fights scenes in your list don’t belong. Harrison ford can’t fight, everything he does is comedic, most men I know hated the Indiana Jones series(specially the last one). I do agree that Gladiator, Enter the Dragon, Conan and Rocky belong in the list.
Jeffrey K: I am a man and I like the Indiana Jones series. Also all the straight men I know like the Indiana Jones series, so you must be gay. 300 was one of the best movies ever, but the so called fight scenes were more like slaughter fests so I would not include it. If you want to get technical it is hard having a top 10 fight scenes without making it top 100 fight scenes. So keep your weak ass list of fight scenes to yourself. One last thing I would be glad to fight you and kick your ass any day of the week it would not be much of a fight scene though it would just be me kicking your ass.
